Context and aim of workshop
Following the success of the first workshop on this topic in November 2016 in Karlsruhe, organized by Dario Manara and his team, decision was then taken to organize a second edition one year later. We propose then you to attend this 2nd Workshop on Raman Spectroscopy on Actinide Oxides (RSAO), in Orleans, France, on December 5-6, 2017.
Like last year the aim is to gather scientists involved in this topic, whatever their field of activity, from very fundamental questions up to industrial, environmental or dissemination control aspects, in order to go deeper in the knowledge of the spectroscopic information given by experiments. But it also aims to form some informal relations and structure this community, in order to potentially apply together to some calls for proposals from the grant agencies relevant to our activities.
Scientific program
The scientific content will consist of oral presentations (no posters), whatever on experimental facilities or on material science aspects. Three topics are scheduled :
- instrumentation
- pure or mixed actinide oxides
- irradiation and self-irradiation effects on Raman spectra
If too many propositions are given, some priority will be given to the new participants, not attending the last edition in such a way that the maximum of colleagues be able to present their activities. The number of participants will be limited in order to facilitate scientific exchanges.
We propose to who is interested a visit of the CEMHTI facilities: irradiation devices and spectroscopic tools (including Raman of course) on Wednesday 6th afternoon. If you want to attend, fill in the corresponding field in the registration form.
Organisation
A financial support was obtained from CEA and EDF (thanks!) to organize this workshop, this will cover organization and conference room reservation, the two lunches and the dinner, and the coffee breaks. Then there is no registration fee, but registration is mandatory for logistic reasons.
Because of the limited number of participants (around 40), registration will be done according to the rule “first registered, first served”
The travel costs and the hotel night will remain at the charge of each participant. For hotel, rooms are available at the workshop place : Novotel hotel ; please contact them directly (contact on the web site below). Please mention you are attending the workshop . Other hotel possibilities exist of course at Orleans, but only a small number in Novotel neighborhood.
Registration and paper submission
To register , please fill in the 'My registration ' tab on the left hand side of this page. You can after propose a talk on the 'Submissions' tab.
If you have not yet an account on Sciencesconf.org, you will first need to create it.
Workshop location
The workshop will start on Tuesday 5th 12pm, up to Wednesday 6th 2pm. It will be localized at Hotel Novotel, Orleans La Source.
